Airmobile Forces Day

Description:

Airborne
On August 2, the Day of Airmobile Forces is celebrated in Ukraine. This holiday was established by the Decree of the President of Ukraine No. 937/99 in 1999 and is an example of the state recognition of the holiday of paratroopers, which is celebrated by everyone who served in the airborne troops, since the time of the world’s first parachute landing near Voronezh on August 2, 1930.

Airmobile troops are part of the Ground Forces and are the pride of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The basis of the airborne troops is a separate airborne brigade, which is stationed in the Dnipropetrovsk region, a separate airmobile brigade (Zhytomyr) and two separate airmobile regiments, which are stationed in Nikolaev and Lviv region.

In the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, many paratroopers who took part in combat operations in Afghanistan, eliminated the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster, performed tasks as part of UN peacekeeping missions.

The winged infantry of Ukraine is in constant combat readiness and is able to perform the assigned task in any conditions.
