The holiday has been celebrated since 1993
On January 26, 1993, the Law “On the State Control and Audit Service in Ukraine” was signed. Since then, January 26 is celebrated as the Day of the Control and Audit Service of Ukraine.
In accordance with the updated norms of the Law of Ukraine “On State Control and Audit Service in Ukraine” dated January 26, 93, number 2939-XII, the functions of the control and audit service include audits and inspections of financial activities, the state of safety of funds and material values, the reliability of accounting and reporting, as well as audits and checks of the completeness of foreign exchange, the correctness of spending and safety of foreign exchange funds in ministries and other executive bodies, in state funds, budget institutions, as well as at enterprises, institutions and organizations that receive funds from the budget and state currency funds.
