Djur-Jur Falls
Description:
Not far from the village of Generalsky in the Haphal gorge, the Ulu-Uzen river flows in three cascades from a height of one hundred meters. The largest of these rapids - Dzhur-Jur (so called in imitation of the murmuring water) - the most abundant and never drying waterfall of the Crimea. Its width is 5 meters, and its height is 15. On the way to the waterfall, among other vegetation - rakes, oaks, kizil and hazel - you can find huge beeches, whose trunk cannot be covered with your hands. There is an observation deck near the waterfall. A kilometer upstream of the river is the cave Dzhur-Jur (length is 750 meters) with a small lake inside. Approximately there are "baths", in which tourists sometimes swim, despite the fact that the water in them is icy. Due to the many streams flowing from a height, this place is also called the “Gorge of a thousand waterfalls”.
You can get there by bus from Alushta to Generalsky, and then either rent a car or climb to the waterfall on foot.
