Description:
City Hall in the Ukrainian city of Chernivtsi is located on the Central square. The building was built in 1843-1847, designed by German engineer Adolf Martin. The majestic town hall was built in the style of late classicism.
The original feature of the town hall is a tower 50 meters high with an observation deck and a clock. The town hall is decorated with two clocks, except for the tower, another clock is installed on the pediment of the building. The clock on the pediment was presented to the city by the mayor Anton Kokhanovsky.
In 2004, a tradition associated with the city hall was introduced. Every day at 12 o'clock on the balcony of the town hall there is a trumpeter in a folk Bukovina costume and plays "Marichka" to the four corners of the world.
