ooh Victory Embankment, Dnipropetrovsk, Dnipropetrovsk region, Ukraine
Description:
Dnipropetrovsk embankment is the longest embankment in Europe. Its total length is 30 kilometers. It is located on the right bank of the Dnieper. Divided into 3 parts: Factory embankment, Embankment named after Lenin and Victory Embankment. Throughout its length Dnipropetrovsk embankment crosses 23 streets.
All master plans for the construction of the embankment, developed in early Soviet times, provided for the city’s access to the Dnieper, but the implementation of the task occurred only in the postwar period. The construction of the embankment took place against the background of a revision of the attitude to the environment. The fight to preserve the purity of water, air and land was a very important state task.
On the promenade are the longest building - "China" (the house is similar to the Great Wall of China) and the tallest houses in the city - 28-storey twin towers, which offer a picturesque view of the city center.
