Ukraine, Dnipropetrovsk region, Novomoskovsk, Victory Square, 1.
Description:
Trinity Cathedral is a unique wooden Orthodox church, built in 1778 by Zaporozhye Cossacks in 1778 in a unique way - without the use of iron nails. This cathedral is a representative of the Ukrainian baroque of the XVIII century.
In 1773 it was decided to build a three-chambered church, in which the main throne was dedicated to the Most Holy Trinity of the Right - to the Apostles Peter and Paul the Left - to three hierarchs - Basil the Great, Gregory the Theologian and John Chrysostom.
The Metropolitan of Kiev issued a permit for the construction of the temple and, choosing a place, the Cossacks broke down the houses bought, dismantled the old church standing there and a few days before the destruction of the Zaporozhye Sich, June 2, 1775 laid the place for the construction of the church.
Construction was completed in 1778. For this work of art, architect Akim Pogrebnyak received a Certificate - a kind of Quality Mark.
