Description:
The monument to the healed patient is located in the city of Donetsk, directly at the regional trauma center. The date of opening of the monument was 2001. The authors were sculptors Yuri Baldin and Pavel Chesnokov.
The monument is cast in bronze, and is a statue of a patient who leaves the hospital. The sculpture stands on the platform of the stairs at the main entrance to the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology. The height of the monument is 180 cm, which is absolutely no different from people visiting the hospital.
The sculpture displays a scene from the Soviet film “Feast of St. Jorgen”, where the hero of the film is a fraudster, orders the main character – “Heal, club!”, and he breaks the crutch on his leg. The monument is a man in a three-suit, with a handkerchief in his pocket, tie and bare feet, who stands with his left foot on the step, and his right leg is bent at the knee.
The initiator of the installation of this sculpture was the chief doctor of the trauma hospital - Vladimir Klimovitsky.
