Chasovoyarsk Museum and Musical Living Room of Joseph Kobzon

Donetsk region, Chasov Yar, Palace of Culture

About the company:

The museum-musical living room in the city of Chasov Yar is dedicated to the life and work of the famous pop singer, statesman, People’s Artist and Laureate of the USSR State Prize Joseph Davydovich Kobzon.

Joseph Kobzon was born on September 11, 1937 in the city of Chasov Yar. This fact is marked by a commemorative plaque on the building of the hospital where he was born, his name is the central street of the city and the Children's School of Arts.

The initiative to create a museum-living room in 2003 belongs to the creative team of the Chasovoyarsk Industrial Historical and Local Lore Museum headed by S.I. Tatarinov with the support of the General Director of OJSC "Chasovoyarsk Refractory Plant" V.B. Lukyanov. The collection of personal belongings, documents, awards, photographs collected by like-minded people, has more than 300 exhibits and introduces visitors to the life and work of the master of the Soviet and Russian stage.

One of the most unique and interesting exhibits of the museum is considered to be the suitcase of I. Kobzon (at that time, stilags were able to shock the public not only with their manner of dressing, but also with outstanding accessories and paraphernalia). And on the balcony of the musical living room there is a carpet with a full-length portrait of the singer embroidered, so if you look from the street, it seems that the master himself sees off or greets his guests.

Particularly worth noting is the modern interpretation of the exposition of the museum due to well-thought-out designs and placement of exhibits. By the way, Iosif Davydovich Kobzon himself visited the city in which he was born, three times - in 2003, 2004 and 2008.
