Museum of the History of the Village of Alexandro-Kalinovo “Dovkilla”

About the company:

The official date of establishment of the Museum of History in the village of Alexandro-Kalinovo is considered to be May 12, 2011. But its grand opening of the ballo is timed to the Village Day and took place on September 17, 2011. The author of the idea and the founder of the museum A. Tarman, a resident of the village and a deputy of the local village council, fascinated by the history of his native Alexandro-Kalinovo, with the support of loved ones, and then joined by like-minded people, consistently and carefully began to collect various information and documents, and subsequently interesting exhibits for the work of the museum.

Work on the creation of a museum complex on the site of an overgrown wasteland and an abandoned hut was supported as part of the implementation of a mini-project of the Donetsk Regional Council and the public organization "Aeneid" under the leadership of A. Tarman himself. The new museum was named "Dovkillya", reflecting the direction of its activities - to show the young generation of villagers and caring visitors to the complex the history of the development of the village, very holistic and original, the fate and life of villagers, the beauty and richness of the environment and the features of Ukrainian culture.

The complex of the museum is represented by three thematic expositions: a hut of the XVIII-XIX centuries with furnishings and household items of those times (whitewashed walls, earthen floor, typical Ukrainian decoration, an ancient furnace, icons and lampads) a hall with exhibits of the object of everyday life and labor of peasants (here you can see a tractor of collectivization, outdoor buildings, stone tools, sculptures and even an IS-3 tank).

The museum contains unique collections of carpentry and blacksmith tools and objects of rural life. The collections of the Museum of the History of the village of Alexandro-Kalinovo are constantly replenished, the expositions are regularly updated. And in the future plans of the villagers to expand the museum of the history of the native village.
