Museum of the Salt Industry
soledar city, Artemovsky district, Donetsk region
About the company:
The museum appeared on the site of the Artemsol underground mine, which operated from 1988 to 1990. It was once a sea of salt.
For all the time, about 117 tons of the main food additive were taken out of the ground. Then they made a museum out of the mine. As exhibits, there are workers’ clothes, salt mining tools, documentation. The mine itself causes a storm of emotions. The walls, ceiling and floor are completely white.
Scientists have long come to the conclusion that being in such a place for a couple of hours and breathing in salt vapors will lead to improved health. In the vicinity of the museum, a speleosanatorium "Salt Symphony" was organized specifically for this purpose. Every year there are hundreds of patients with bronchial asthma. And the result exceeds all expectations.
In addition to the benefits and interesting exhibits, the mine has excellent acoustics. There were even symphony concerts here. The music was later called the Salt Symphony.
