People's Museum of History of Donetsk State Medical University named after M. Gorky

On February 21, 1976, a history museum was established at the Donetsk State Medical University named after A.M. Gorky. The founder of this museum was the head of the Department of History of Medicine of Rudenko University A.K. 1980 brought the museum the title of “people’s”.

The expositions of the museum tell their visitors about the history of the creation of the university - about the difficult years of repression, about the pre-war years. Many documents in the museum are devoted to the pages of the Great Patriotic War, because most of the students and teachers of the university went to the front. The museum also shows the history of the post-war years, when the restoration of the medical university was in full swing.

It is also currently on display at the museum. The collection of the museum contains more than 2000 unique photos, posters, personal belongings, medical instruments, ancient and modern. Also at the stands you can see clippings from newspapers of past years, with posters drawn by students of different generations.
