People's Museum of Consumer Cooperation

The People’s Museum of Consumer Cooperation of the Donetsk region was opened at the Donetsk Economic and Legal Cooperative College named after N.P.Ballin and is a unique collection that tells visitors and students of the technical school about the history and development of consumer cooperation of the region.

The museum was founded in 1972 by the Decree of the Board of the Donetsk Regional Consumer Union No. 24 of February 12. Later it became a research institution of the system of consumer cooperation of Donetsk region. And in 1990 he was awarded the title of "people's".

Today, the museum funds number about 1,500 painstakingly collected exhibits presented in 4 thematic sections of the museum exposition, which tells about the development of consumer cooperation in the Donetsk region from the date of foundation in 1888 of the Consumer Society near the plant of the Novorossiysk Society to the present day.

Search work, replenishment of museum funds, updating of expositions are the merit of teachers and students of the technical school. Competitions for the right to conduct excursions around the museum are regularly held, research work is carried out to study the activities of the most famous and largest cooperatives of the Donetsk region.
