About the company:
Starobeshev Memorial Museum P.Angelina was opened in this status in 1966. The exposition of the museum is dedicated to one of the brightest personalities of the Soviet era in the history of Ukraine - Pasha (Praskovye) Angelina (December 30, 1912 (January 12, 1913) - January 21, 1959), who became a legend of her era. The mother of four children, the foreman of the first women’s tractor brigade in the country, the initiator and participant of the Stakhanov movement in the years of the first five-year plans, the striker of labor, the Twice Hero of Socialist Labor, the Laureate of the State Prize of the USSR, the Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR until the last day of her life, but, above all, a woman famous in labor. Her name is listed in the World Biographical Encyclopedia (published in the UK).
The history of life and work of P. Angelina begins with the exposition of the memorial museum dedicated to life, work, history of resettlement from the Crimea to the Azov region of the Greek diaspora (Pasha Angelina was born and grew up in Starobeshevo, in a large Greek peasant family, so her fate is inseparable from the history of the Azov Greeks). Ethnographic monuments, ancient equipment and primitive objects of labor of the Azov Greeks, as well as a model of the house covered with thatched roof, in which Pasha was born and grew up, are clearly presented. For the first time, many will see the yoke for oxen, stone millstones and an oil grinder, a collection of weaving products made by the hands of Greek masters.
The memorial hall of P. Angelina acquaints visitors with the period of her deputy activity (she was elected Deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR in 1937, when she was only 24 years old, and held this post until her death). No less detailed is the history of the creation of the first women’s tractor brigade and their labor successes in pre-war, war and post-war times. Here you can see photos, personal belongings, documents and a closet full of books. After all, Praskovya Angelina was not just a mechanizer, but an educated farmer, she studied at the Timiryazev Moscow Academy on the recommendation of the government, graduating after the war.
Undoubted interest of visitors to the museum is caused by photographs of American tractors "Fordson", and exhibits of equipment of domestic production. Among them is one of the first domestic tractors, on which Pasha and the workers of her brigade performed their labor feat, which made them famous all over the world.
In total, the museum presents 6 thematic sections dedicated to different periods of life and activity of P. N. Angelina.
It should be noted that the activities of the museum are not limited to the collection and preservation of the exhibition fund. It regularly hosts evenings of ancient Greek songs, meetings with old-timers of the Greek population of the region, meetings with associates of Pasha Angelina, as well as folklore performances of the Greek ensemble “Ezglar”.
