About the company:
The Vasily Stus Museum was originally located in the city of Horlivka, Donetsk region, on the territory of the Elastomer enterprise. But in 2012, the museum was moved to the library named after N. K. Krupskaya, in the city of Donetsk. This is the first museum of its kind in Ukraine dedicated to the great poet, who since 1961 worked in Horlivka as a teacher of literature and language.
The museum was established on a voluntary basis, on September 4, 2002. Its opening contributed to the local plant "Elastomer" and the Fund of veterans of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine.
The museum is represented by more than 1000 exhibits, among which you can see the rarest photos, works of the poet, his fingerprints taken during arrests, KGB materials, notes, letters, models and patches of a prison robe. Visitors will also be able to hear the poet’s voice sounding from the camera, a model of one of the most brutal political camps and look at the living space of Vasily Stus as a prisoner, in the last days of his life.
