Annunciation Market
ooh Engelsa, 33, Kharkiv, Kharkiv region, Ukraine
Description:
The Annunciation Bazaar, now the Central Market is both the historical district of the city and the central market. The bazaar received its name in 1840 thanks to the old Annunciation Church standing next to it, and in the 1890s - thanks to the Annunciation Cathedral.
The territory is bounded on the north-eastern side by the left bank of the Ivanovo embankment of the Lopan River, on the west by the Lenin tram depot, which was closed in 2006, and Panasovka, and on the south side by the Annunciation Cathedral and Katsarskaya Street.
The square includes the market territory itself, the shopping arcades of the XIXth century, the market square, the suburban bus station, the House of Trade and the Ivanovo embankment.
