Passionary Bridge

Passionaria Bridge, also known as the Bridge of Lovers, is one of the most romantic places in Kharkiv. This is a pedestrian bridge that runs through the Passionaria descent in the city center. It is located at the beginning of Pravda Avenue and connects two parts of the Nagorny district: the zoo and the university with Zagospromye.

It was built after the Great Patriotic War in 1953. It received its name in honor of the descent, and he, in turn, was named after Dolores Ibarruri, the heroine of the Spanish Civil War of 1936-1939, nicknamed for inexhaustible energy Passionary.

The construction of the Passionaria pedestrian bridge is metal, the flooring is wooden. Its load is not designed for the passage of vehicles, therefore, a vertical cabinet is installed before the entrance.

This place is very popular with newlyweds and couples in love. Along the entire length of the bridge you can see a variety of castles left here in memory of eternal love.
