Kharkiv bus station
Description:
Kharkiv Bus Station, also called Bus Station No. 1, is the central bus station of Kharkiv. It is located near the railway station "Kharkov-Levada" and metro station "Prospect Gagarin". The bus station serves buses of interregional, international and intraregional routes. About 160 buses depart from here every day. Kharkiv bus station works around the clock.
The station was opened in early 1958. In 1975, the number of routes passing through the Kharkiv bus station, many times exceeded the design. In 2006-2009, a major reconstruction of the station was carried out - sheds were equipped, paving slabs were laid and the fence was moved.
The building of the Kharkiv bus station deserves special attention. This is a three-storey building designed by A. G. Krykinav in a style typical of the 50s of the XX century. It clearly shows the elements of classical architectural forms. The facade of the building is made in the form of a concave arc, divided into three spans by pilasters. The window openings are connected by arches.
