Holy Trinity Castle Church

Khmelnytsky region, Starokonstantinov, st. Castle

Description:

The stone defensive complex was: a palace with a defensive tower and a castle church, a belfry, an entrance gate and a defense wall. Economic buildings and the church were located in the western part of the castle. The Holy Trinity Church was part of the fortress buildings. Small in size, it played a defensive role. The church contains elements of Baroque.

A rare fresco depicting the funeral of A. Ostrogsky has been preserved, as well as the image of the prince’s coat of arms – an eight-pointed star covered by a crescent moon from below.

Today, the defensive complex of the Ostrog family nest is the territory of an Orthodox male monastery. There are services here. Archaeological excavations and restoration work are carried out on the rest of the complex.
