Pottery tower
d. Kamenets-Podolsky, Vala St., 1
Description:
The pottery tower is located on a high rocky place on the bank of the Smotrich River. The tower was an important defensive structure in the city fortification system. It was built in 1583 with the money of potters and named in their honor.
Initially, the tower had several tiers on each side and a sharp roof with a watchtower. Also in the construction was used a parapet with a cut - the latest achievement of that time. The tower slaughterhouses were adapted for both artillery and manual firing. Today, the tower is the most interesting defense structure of the XVI century. Visitors can also visit the Old Fortress restaurant, which is located on the territory of the tower.
