Karmelukovo Tower

Description:
Karmelyukov Tower is located on the southeastern corner of the Kamenets-Podilsk fortress, above the rock. The rock near the foundation was broken, it was done for difficult access to the enemy. The first two tiers of the tower are quadrangular, the next two are octagonal, the fifth is cylindrical. The height of the tower is 28 meters, thickness from one to two meters.
Construction of the tower began in 1505, ended at the beginning of the XVI century. In 1818-1823, Ustim Karmelyuk, the leader of the popular uprising in Podolia, was imprisoned in the tower, hence the name of the tower.
