Nikolaev Church

kamenets-Podilsky, Nikolaevsky Per, 2

Description:

The Nikolaev Church is the only building in the city that has preserved its original appearance since the XIV century. The church was built in 1398 on the site of another religious building. In the 1990s, it was transferred to the Orthodox Church, after which restoration was carried out.

Soon after the construction, it was renamed Blagoveshchenskaya and bore this name until the Turkish rule, during which the church fell into decline. At the beginning of the XI century it was restored by the Armenian Litynovich and renamed back to Nikolaevskaya. Over the following time, the church was expanded and completed and today includes the cathedral itself, a bell tower and a stone pavement around the church. Also, visitors can relax in the square in front of the main facade - there is an area with flower beds and benches.
