Old Castle of Kamenets-Podilsky

The old fortress in Kamenets-Podilsky is one of the most famous medieval monuments and tourist attractions of Ukraine. It is part of the State Museum-Reserve. The buildings of the castle are often the venue for various events and filming.

The castle began its existence since ancient Russian times. First mentioned in the XIV century, later was rebuilt in stone, expanded and completed. In the XVI century, a bridge was built, in the XVII bastions were completed.

The fortress took part in the defense of the city several times and was its main defensive structure.

Today, the castle is the main attraction of the city, on its territory you can see medieval buildings, as well as visit various expositions dedicated to the history of the castle and the region.

You can also visit the light weapons museum. The castle is open to visitors from 9.00 to 19.00 in summer and from 9.00 to 18.00 in winter.
