New Year and Christmas excursions-walks 2020/21 in Kiev

New Year 2021 is coming!

During the New Year and Christmas period, Kiev turns into a magical city with a fabulous Christmas tree and a Christmas market! During our New Year and Christmas walks, we will not only plunge into the history and architecture of Kiev, but also admire the beautiful Christmas tree, visit the fabulous Christmas market! (from December 19). There can be several itineraries and the duration of excursions can be from 1.5 to 3 hours (depending on your desire).

Walking routes:

1. “Ancient Kiev+New Year’s tree” (“Golden Gate”, Sofia and Mikhailovsky Golden-Domed Cathedral, St. Andrew’s Descent, St. Andrew’s Church, Vladimir’s Hill, a monument to Princess Olga, a monument to Prince Vladimir, making New Year’s wishes...). Duration 1.5 -2 hours. The meeting place is the metro station "Golden Gate".

2. “New Year’s Tree + Kyiv Center” (“Golden Gate”, Sofia, the podium of the capital – Khreshchatyk Street and the main square – Independence Square, “Kyiv Paris”, the building of the National Bank of Ukraine, the Presidential Administration of Ukraine, the House with “Chimers”).

Duration of 1.5-2 hours. The meeting place is the metro station "Golden Gate".

3. “New Year’s tree + Andreevsky descent and Podil” (Sophia Kiev, St. Andrew’s Descent, St. Andrew’s Church, “Ghost House”, M. Bulgakov’s house – the famous “House of Turbins”, we recall the novel “White Guard”, Podol, Kontraktova Square, the building of the former Greek Catherine Monastery, the oldest educational institution Kiev-Mohyla Academy, the living yard. Duration of 1.5-2 hours.

Meeting place:

1. monument to B. Khmelnitsky (Sofia Square)

2. metro station "Golden Gate" (1 and 2 excursions can be combined).

4.From Vladimir Cathedral (XIX century) to the Golden Gate (XI century), Sofia and the New Year tree.

This tour is for lovers of history, architecture, painting, unusual monuments and interesting stories, as well as Mikhail Bulgakov. During the tour you will see the Vladimir Cathedral (frescoes by V. Vasnetsov, M. Nesterov, M. Vrubel and other famous artists, the miraculous relics of St. Barbara (IV century) and miraculous icons) and hear an interesting story about the construction of the cathedral and the artists who painted the cathedral. You will find out what the most valuable souvenir was taken and taken away by guests from Kiev (and of course it will be possible to buy it), as well as get an exclusive souvenir from the guide! We will walk one of the longest poplar alleys in the world and remember A. Pushkin. Visit the “Latin Quarter” of Kiev and find out which of the celebrities studied there. We will see a beautiful opera and ballet theater and remember Paris and P. Stolypin, as well as the author of “Black Square” K. Malevich and the famous chansonnier – A. Vertinsky. We will walk through some places of the heroes of the works of M. Bulgakov, see miraculous icons and one very strange house ... and we will find ourselves on the border of ancient Kiev (the city of Yaroslav the Wise XI century). We will see the Golden Gate (11th century) - the main entrance to ancient Kiev, see unusual monuments, talk about legends and Kiev heroes and enter the city of Y. Wise and see his main creation - Sofia! And we'll finish our New Year's Eve tour! Duration 1.5 -2 hours. Meeting place: Metro station "University". Excursions can be combined at will with a break for lunch.
