Paton Bridge
Description:
The Paton Bridge, located in Kiev, connects the Boulevard of Friendship of Peoples and the Rusanovsky Massif. This is the first bridge in the world, when installing all the elements of which electric welding was used.
This all-welded bridge, which stretches for a kilometer and a half, was called a rocket launched from the past to the future. It was built in 1953 by engineer Evgeny Paton and has never been overhauled since.
The reserve of its strength per day allows 70 thousand cars to pass through it. Previously, Kievans loved to walk over the Dnieper on the Paton Bridge, and until recently it was possible to ride on it by tram.
