Description:

The monument to Prince Vladimir is one of the symbols of Kiev. A majestic statue towers over the Dnieper in the Vladimir Hill Park. The monument was erected in 1853. The bronze statue depicts Prince Vladimir, the Baptist of Russia. The prince is dressed in a cloak, holds a large cross in one hand, and a grand prince’s hat in the other. The height of the monument is 20.4 meters. It is believed that the monument stands just above the place where the baptism of the Russian people took place. In order for the monument to be visible even in the dark, it was illuminated. Today, the park is a very popular place among residents and guests of the city. A large number of people come to the monument every day to touch the history and enjoy the beautiful panorama on the Dnieper and the surrounding area.
