About the company:
The idea of creating the National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War in Kiev arose in 1943, but the problems of that time prevented its implementation. Then there was the post-war time, and only on October 17, 1974, the Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War solemnly opened its doors to visitors. This event was timed to the 30th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazis. Since then, renowned architects and sculptors have worked painstakingly to create the Memorial Complex, which opened to the public on the eve of May 9, 1981.
The complex is a grotto gallery of sculptural images - a group of workers, peasants, soldiers and ordinary Soviet people who forged the Great Victory in the rear and on the fronts of the Fire of Glory bowl, an exhibition of military equipment and weapons to the Alley of Hero Cities.
But the main attraction of the Memorial, of course, is the monumental figure of the Motherland, at the base of which the museum is located.
The collection of the National Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War is the most numerous among the collections of other Ukrainian museums of similar orientation. More than 300 thousand museum exhibits of the main fund and more than 60 thousand units of the scientific and auxiliary fund are stored here.
The Hall of Memory deserves special attention, in the center of which there is a 27-meter memorial table, on which items of frontline life are placed.
