Description:
Freedom Avenue is not just a business center of Lviv, but also a favorite place for walks of its residents. Along the avenue lined beautiful buildings of the turn of the XIX-XX centuries, each of which deserves attention. The length of Freedom Avenue is only 350 meters.
He begins his journey from Gorodotskaya Street. Here on the square stands the most recognizable building of Lviv - the Opera House. Moving towards Mari Square, on the left we will see the building of the National Museum. Immediately, in the middle of the avenue, there is a monument to Shevchenko, very interesting in composition and performance. To the right of the monument is the famous “Vienna Coffee House”, where the Lviv city elite gathered, and to the left is the Jesuit Church of Saints Peter and Paul. Next is the building of the Grand Hotel, which has been in existence since 1893, and once there was the first casino in Lviv. Near the hotel - the building of the Galician Savings Bank, richly decorated with sculptures - is now a museum of ethnography. Next, you will pass through the square decorated with a statue of the Virgin Mary. Lviv newlyweds definitely come here. The square with the monument to Adam Mickiewicz will complete the acquaintance with the Liberty Avenue in Lviv.
