High castle

Pattu High Castle, Lviv region, Ukraine.

Description:

The name "High Castle" is one of the hills, near the city center. The name of the hill is associated with the castle, previously standing on top. Today there is a park of the same name on the territory of the mountain.

Initially, a wooden fortress stood on the hill, but in the XIII century it was rebuilt in stone. The castle has repeatedly been a battleground and throughout history has been an important part of the city's defenses. In the XVII century, the castle was damaged by Swedish troops, after which it was finally dismantled in the XIX century. On the site of the castle were planted trees, arranged paths.

Today, the park is a good place to relax with a beautiful view of the city. Also in the park you can see exotic plants and visit an artificial cave.
