About the company:
The two-story Arsenal building is built of stone, the highest point of which is the octagonal tower on the north side. Despite the fact that the building of the arsenal dates back to the XVI century, scientists have reason to assume that the tower and the first floor have a more ancient origin.
In the XVII century, the arsenal was not only a fortification. It was also used as a prison for prisoners. In one casemate there was even a torture chamber.
After the attack of the Swedes in 1704, the arsenal had to be rebuilt again. The arsenal began to perform the functions of a weapons museum only in 1981. The exposition of the museum without conscience can be called large-scale. The chronological boundaries of the exhibited monuments - XI - early XX century, and as for their homeland, the exposition presents samples of weapons from more than 30 countries of the world.
All this gives a unique opportunity to trace the evolution of weapons, learn about their types, types, places of manufacture. Some of the exhibits are also masterpieces of applied art: they are decorated with precious stones, metals, ivory. In addition to the exhibition of weapons, visitors to the Arsenal can look at holograms of ancient orders.
