Dovbush Rocks
11 km southwest of the town of Bolekhov, near the village of Bubnische
Description:
The rocks of Dovbush (Skeli Dovbush) are located near the village of Bubnische (Ivano-Frankivshina). The complex extends about one kilometer in length and 200 meters in width. This stone labyrinth is surrounded by a beech-spruce forest. The area itself is at an altitude of 670 meters above sea level. From above there is a beautiful view of the surrounding forests, mountains and lake. The place is popular not only among climbers, but also among ordinary tourists. Each rock here has its own name and history.
According to archaeological research, in the X-XVII centuries BC on the Rocks of Dovbush there was a pagan sanctuary-observatory. The complex was named in honor of Oleksa Dovbush, the leader of the oprichki (local movement against serfdom), who was hiding here from the mercenaries of the nobility and the Polish authorities. According to one legend, here he hid his vast wealth.
At the entrance to the park there are many cafes and restaurants. Locals also offer to ride horses.
