City garden

City Garden, Primorsky district, Odessa region, Ukraine, 65000

Description:

The city garden in the Ukrainian city of Odessa is located in the city center, along Deribasovskaya Street, between the streets of Havanna and Preobrazhenskaya. The garden was opened in 1803 by the brother of the founder of the city, Josif de Ribas, Felix de Ribas, who decided to plant exotic plants on his land. Gradually, the garden grew, and in 1806 it was donated to the city.

A beautifully landscaped garden with flower beds, centuries-old trees, arbor and benches surprises with its interesting and original monuments. At the entrance to the park you can see a bronze family of lions: a lion and a lioness with a cub. Also of interest is the monument to the twelfth chair by master Gambs from the famous novel by I. Ilf and E. Petrov “12 chairs”. The grand opening of the monument to the chair took place in the days of "Yumorina-99". Visitors to the garden are given a unique opportunity to admire the monument to Deonid Utesov, as well as to see the plaster plasters Ostap Bender and Kisa Vorobyaninov.

In the garden is the only fountain of perfume in the world, invented by French perfumer Christophe Lacarin. Instead of water every hour, the miracle fountain sprays specially selected fragrant liquids.

There is also a musical fountain, you can enjoy a light and musical show near it every evening.
