Ivanova mountain
Description:
Ivanova Mountain is a holy place for Poltava. Historians identify Ivanovo Mountain with the chronicle settlement of Ltava, mentioned in 1174. Archaeologists have found traces of the Scythian period.
A little further on Ivanovo Hill there is a white rotunda, on which the words of Ivan Kotlyarevsky are carved. And next to her favorite tourist monument Galushka. It is from here that a panorama of the city of Poltava opens from Ivanova Mountain. On the left is the Monastery Mountain, on the right is the Institut Mountain, at the bottom is the city and the Vorskla River and the Holy Cross Monastery of the XVII-XIX centuries on the neighboring hill. A very beautiful area opens up to our eyes.
And on the Ivanova Hill, almost under the walls of the Cathedral - the house of the classic of Ukrainian literature Ivan Kotlyarevsky. It is in his honor that the mountain is named Ivanova.
