Bag monument

This monument appeared on Resurrection Street in honor of the 350th anniversary of the foundation of the city of Sumy. It is made in the form of a hunting bag with money lying over a well. This symbol of the city was seen by sculptor Alexey Shevchenko. It recalls the legend that at the place where the city appeared, hunting bags full of money were found.

Here, each element has its own meaning: the arch symbolizes the heavenly vault, and the bag is a sign of life and well-being. The fountain quickly took root and became a favorite attraction of the city. It is believed that if you wash with water from a fountain or moisten your bag and purse, then from this point on, a person will not need money, and luck will come to him. You can also make a wish and throw a coin into the well. The desire must be fulfilled.
