The Beatles Monument

Ukraine, Donetsk, Artema St., 131-a

Description:

Monument to the Beatles in the Ukrainian city of Donetsk appeared in 2006 at the entrance to the student cafe “Liverpool”. The author of the sculptural composition is Kharkiv citizen Vladimir Antipov. He made musicians out of plastic and painted them with bronze paint. It turned out to be a story. The musicians are shown during the concert. The resemblance to a real concert is amazing. To achieve such accuracy, the author revised the performances of the Beatles, studied the movements and facial expressions of the artists and embodied this in sculpture.

Behind the monument is a wall, and it depicts the British flag. Near the monument, Beatles songs are constantly heard. Far from music, people will take everything literally, they say, what are the sculptural figures, such were real artists. But experts and enthusiastic fans of the group can, of course, find some very small discrepancies in the device of guitars, real and cast from plastic, as well as in the hairstyles of musicians, if you compare the monument with photos, but for this you will have to work very hard.
