Description:

One of the most majestic temples of the Svyatogorsk State Historical and Architectural Reserve can be attributed to the Intercession Church with a bell tower. Construction of the church began in 1850. The project was developed by Professor of Kharkiv University A. Tona.

The church was placed on the second floor, as a library, an archive and a vault were built on the first floor. The temple is made in the classical style inherent in the architecture of that time. The architecture is distinguished by cylindrical columns, straight and clear lines. Completes the image of the church with a heavy dome in the shape of a bow. To the temple lead the holy gate, which is located in the center.

The Intercession Church is distinguished by a beautiful bell tower. It consists of eight bells, and an old tower clock is built on its drum. During the closure of the monastery, the church lost its votive symbolism. The temple was adapted for a water hospital. After the war, the room was converted into a gym and a library.

The year 1996 for the Intercession Church was marked by its return to the possession of the monastery. Work was carried out on the restoration of the bell tower and the painting of the temple.
