Museum of the Great Patriotic War

The Museum of the Great Patriotic War in Donetsk was opened on the eighth of May 2012. It was built with money from the city and local entrepreneurs.

The area of the museum is nine hundred twenty-seven square meters. There is an exposition on two levels. On the lower floor there is the main exhibition hall, the "Victory Hall", the hall of military newsreels. There is also an exhibition of collectible weapons of the Great Patriotic War and military uniforms. There are several galleries on the second floor. In this place you can see thematic photo panels, expositions and dioramas.

In the Museum of the Great Patriotic War there are more than two hundred documentary photographs, more than one hundred and fifty posters, newspapers and leaflets of wartime. There are other items that have a military past. By the way, in order for foreign tourists to assimilate information about exhibitions, the museum has a special sound accompaniment of excursions in English.
