Museum of Political Prisoners

The Historical and Memorial Museum of Political Prisoners is located in the basement cells of the temporary detention of the former detention center of the Ternopil NKVD-KGB. The exposition tells about the struggle of Ukrainian nationalists against the communist regime, the repressive methods of the Soviet special services and the life of convicts in the Gulag camps. The prison environment has been recreated in 28 remand cells. Visitors can see punishment cells, instruments of torture, household items of prisoners. Also exhibited are models of the Siberian concentration camp and the car "veal".
