Description:
Bar is a district center in the Vinnytsia region. The city was founded in the XV century. It has a glorious history and is rich in sights. Among them is the Assumption Church, built in 1757. The Orthodox Church is located in the heart of the city. Not far from the Assumption Church you can see the church and the city park, in which the famous Bar Castle was once located. There are only remnants of him now.
On the site of the Assumption Church was once the Trinity Church, which according to legend was built by Colonel Palij, who raised a revolt against Poland. In the XIX century, the church building began to crack, so in 1838 the Assumption Church was closed. And services in it began to serve after major repairs in 1851. Already in the XX century in the seventies, the church was once again repaired, at the moment it is active.
