Fabini Plaza del Entrevero

Plaza del Entrevero, Montevideo 11100, Uruguay

Description:

Fabini Square (the square of the engineer Juan Pedro Fabini, or Plaza del Entrevero) is a small square-shaped area located in the capital of Uruguay.

The central and most important attraction of the square is the picturesque fountain “El Entrevero”, designed by Jose Belloni in 1967 in honor of unknown heroes – Indians and Gauchos who gave their lives for the independence and freedom of Uruguay. The word "El Entrevero" means "mixing" of peoples, so the square soon after the installation of the fountain received such a name. Near the sculptural composition rise up thin streams of the fountain.

The square around the fountain also houses houses and hotels with stunning views of the metropolitan areas.
