St. Sweethoon's Day in the UK

If it rains on this day, another 40 days of this summer will be rainy.Saint Sweethoun of Winchester is considered the patron saint of Hampshire, Winchester and Southwark. In Britain, he is revered as the “patron of the weather”.

It is believed that if it rains on this day, another 40 days of this summer will be rainy.

Saint Svithun is depicted holding a bridge or with a broken egg at his feet. This is due to the legend that on the bridge erected by his care, a woman broke a basket of eggs, and through his prayers these eggs were restored.
