All Saints' Day

Description:

All Saints' Day
The feast day of the Roman Catholic and Anglican churches is a day in which churches glorify God and all saints, known and unknown. It is celebrated on November 1 in the West since Pope Gregory IV punished its observance of all churches in 837. Its origins derive from early commemorations of martyrs whose names were unknown.

For a long time, in addition to honoring the martyrs, it was decided to honor all saints. In medieval England, the festival was known as “All the Blessing One” because Halloween was celebrated the night before.
