Peterborough Beer Festival
Description:
It attracts at least 40 thousand people – so the population of the town increases to 200 thousand, but not for long, because this joy lasts for beer gourmets only 5 days.
At the festival, not only all varieties of world beer are provided (each brand has its own trading tent), a diverse menu (except for beer, you can try cider and pear cider, which the British even invented their own name perrie).
Every Briton enjoys live music, exclusive glasses (every year a new collection), a funny entertainment program, a lottery and celebrations until the morning (this is how the childhood of the famous member of the band The Prodigy Keith Palmer, who lived in Peterborough, passed).
The pavilion, which hosts the festival, is essentially a small town, because it has everything from a hospital and post office to playgrounds and the Royal National Lifeboat Institute! Apparently, happy and cheerful festival guests don't swim in beer.
Swimming (and even drowning) is just something – there are more than 350 types of ale made from 100 different types of beer yeast.
If someone really likes a unique variety, then they vote for it - after which, as at each festival, the champion of brewing is determined.
The champion then treats the guests with his excellent beer, so that the vote is always with interest and its results are expected with delight.
In addition to the election of a champion, or rather, if some beer manufacturer is not lucky enough to become a champion, the Best New Brewery is elected.
But also for a reason and if this time he does not have to go broke on the 40-thousandth crowd, then next year the festival will not do without a new beer brewed by the Best New Factory.
Speaking about the history of the festival, it turns 29 years old in 2007, and was invented by the British company “Natural El” – Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA), which has existed and is valued since 1970.
There are also rules of survival at the festival – they are extensive, but we can highlight the 3 most important:
1. Do not forget to eat (in the sun and increased consumption of strong beer).
2. Don't forget to drink (this time water!)
3. Wear comfortable clothes and shoes
But in principle, without observing these rules, you will not survive in life, let alone at the festival.
So it is in this case that all the English foresight and a sense of their superiority are revealed - they say, our festival gives not only strong emotions, but also not that it is not comparable with other beer festivals in the world, but even with a natural disaster.
