Celtic culture festivals are held in many countries, including in Russia in Vyborg, Nizhny Novgorod - for St. Patrick's Day, in Krasnodar - in November.

And from 12 to 30 January, Celtic Connections takes place in Glasgow. Over 19 days and nights, viewers can attend more than 200 events dedicated to Celtic culture and music. At the festival perform artists from the UK, Canada, USA, France and Spain.

As well as stunning gigs, Celtic Connections presents "Tok Show and Debate," in which Ian Andersen, the celebrated BBC Scotland radio presenter, talks to famous musicians.

In France, in Lorient (the province of Brittany) in early August, the largest festival of Celtic culture has been held for 35 years, a grand party that the British themselves call emvod ar geited (Celtic Assembly). For ten days, the city turns into a huge stage, where the descendants of the Gauls, Britons, Scotts, Gallats, Picts, Gaels, Erins perform.

Concerts, master classes on playing traditional musical instruments, displays of national costumes, competitions in traditional sports are accompanied by exhibitions, scientific and near-scientific conferences.

The festival opens with a grandiose Celtic Nations Parade - the streets of Lorient turn into a podium for demonstrating folklore outfits, the sounds of bagpipes penetrating into the very heart of the soul emphasize the historical flavor of the action.

In order to get acquainted with Celtic music, you need to visit the Magic Night concert. It is held four times during the festival at the main sports arena of the city. The best musicians of Asturias, Brittany, Galicia, Ireland, Wales and Scotland present their regions to the audience. All this is accompanied by a stunning laser show.
