University of Buckingham
Hunter Street, Buckingham, MK18 1EG, UK
Description:
Buckingham University is the only private university in the United Kingdom. The university received the status in 1983. The number of students at the moment is more than 2000. Modern technical equipment, high standards of teaching and interesting training programs make it popular both in the UK and far beyond.
The University is located in Buckingham, in a picturesque location on the banks of the Great Ouse River. In 1976, Buckingham University College was opened in a specially built building. Several years of rapid development, the creation of a solid foundation of the educational base ensured that the college was awarded the status of a University in 1983. The University of Buckingham exists alongside the state, but aims to create a worthy example of higher education methods and an alternative for students when choosing an educational institution.
The university is very famous among international students, now there are about 50% of foreign students from Asia, Africa, America and the European Union. The most powerful are the humanities and economic disciplines, and the School of Medicine is often the chosen direction.
