Prior Park Landscape Garden
Ralph Allen Drive, Bath, BA2 5AH, Great Britain
Description:
The landscape garden of the XVIII century "Pryor Park" is located in the city of Bath in a stunning valley on Ralph Allen Drive, from which there is a beautiful view of the city. The garden, which covers an area of 113,000 square meters, contains many interesting features, including one of the four remaining Palladio bridges in the world, a Gothic temple, Mrs. Allen’s Grotto, a winding lake.
Designed by local entrepreneur Ralph Allen by poet Alexander Pope and gardener-decorator Capabiliti Brown, the garden influenced the definition of landscape style known in continental Europe as "English Park." Here you can walk along forest paths, relax in stone gazebos, or look at the city from one of the hills.
There is no parking in the garden, so it is better to go there by public transport or on foot.
