Heaton Park

Manchester, Greater Manchester, United Kingdom

Description:

One of the main attractions of Manchester is Heaton Park, which is one of the largest in the UK. Its area is approximately 300 hectares. The park was bought by the city authorities in 1902 from the famous Earl Wilton. It contains an 18-hole golf course, a tennis court, a lake, farmland, forests, ornamental gardens, an observatory, a playground, and several museums.

Also in the park there are nine architectural monuments, the most delightful of which is a beautiful country house called Heaton Hall, built in the middle of the XVIII century in the neoclassical style. In 2005, the park was renovated under the leadership of the world-renowned Heritage Lottery Fund. About £10 million was allocated for the work.

Currently, Heaton Park attracts many tourists from all over the world. Here you can not only admire the delightful landscapes, but also enjoy many attractions, breathe fresh air and take good photos.
