Vivari Park

Mount St, Taunton, Somerset TA1 3QE

Description:

Vivari Park is located near the city center of Tonton and covers an area of about 75 thousand square meters. The park zone was established in 1895 and consists of two vast territories. This is a great place for walking and family holidays.

Since 1851, Vivari Park has been a venue for public events as well as city flower exhibitions. In 1902, two huge oak trees were planted here for the coronation day of Edward VII. At the expense of the funds that remained from the celebration, the local authorities erected a fountain in memory of Queen Victoria.

Immediately at the main entrance to the park is a historical war memorial, built in 1922. On the territory of the park there is a children's playground, a cafe, tennis courts and a golf club. Fans of mini-golf are offered courses at 4220 meters with numerous obstacles and 18 holes.

In Vivari Park you can walk by the magnificent lake, which was created in the 1980s. Here live different types of waterfowl, including kingfishers, reeds, ducks and others. Throughout the park are planted flower beds with many plants, of which there are a total of about 56 thousand.
