Bamburg Castle

Bamburgh Castle, Bamburgh NE69 7DF, UK

Description:

The history of Bamburg Castle begins in the VI century. During its history, the castle has seen many owners, wars, battles and bloody strife.

More than once besieged, defeated and defeated, Bamburg still rises majestically above the lead waters of the North Sea.

For a long time, the building existed without an owner, and only in the early XX century was bought by William Armstrong, who completed all the work on the restoration of the castle, making it a personal residence and museum.

What a museum without a mysterious legend! Residents say that the Pink Princess lives in the castle - the daughter of one of the former owners. The girl was very fond of one young man, but the father was against their love and sent the boyfriend to thirty lands, telling her daughter that her lover had married another. The father hoped that the girl’s love would cool down, but she became increasingly depressed. Then the father ordered the daughter to sew a dress of her favorite pink color. The girl put on a dress and threw herself from the highest tower of the castle. Since then, locals regularly see a girl in pink clothes, sadly looking for her lover.
