Barley Hall House Museum

2A Coffee Yard, Off Stonegate, York, North Yorkshire YO1 8AR, United Kingdom

About the company:

One of the attractions of York is the Barley Hall House Museum. The building was built in the middle of the XV century and was a stunning medieval townhouse, where once lived the abbot and mayor of York.

The house is now restored to its pristine splendor, with fine high ceilings, beautiful wooden furniture and possibly England's only horn window. Barley Hall is a historic attraction. Here you can taste the exhibits, sit on chairs, open chests - everything to plunge into the atmosphere of that time. Excursions are accompanied by museum staff in antique outfits.

During the summer months, costume performances take place in the yard of the house and medieval markets gather. Barley Hall is a historical monument of architecture and is very popular with tourists.
