Chenies Manor, Rickmansworth, Buckinghamshire WD3 6ER, UK
About the company:
The Chenies Manor is a historical monument. It was built in 1460 and was privately owned by the Cheney family. In 1954, the building was rebuilt and restored. Fortified towers with pediments on the territory of the estate evoke the spirit of the Middle Ages.
The house is now privately owned by the Matthaus family. Part of its premises were converted into a museum and opened to visitors. Numerous underground labyrinths in the estate and 23 separate chimneys on the roof are a real architectural puzzle. It amazes with its splendor the rich interior of the house, complemented by modern furniture, tapestries and a collection of antique dolls.
The house is located on the territory of a picturesque garden with stunning landscape design. Art exhibitions are held here during the summer months. The souvenir shop located in the house is very popular among visitors. In a cozy tea room you can enjoy real English tea and excellent cakes.
